MISSION STATEMENT
Mission
The South Berwick Fire Department is committed to serving the town of South Berwick and its
inhabitants. We shall do so through the dedicated commitment of its firefighters in fire suppression,
fire prevention and the protection of life during fires and other emergencies in the Town of South
Berwick and its surrounding communities through Mutual Aid Agreements. We will respond 24 hours a
day, seven days a week, and 365 days a year with no exceptions.
Execution
We will accomplish this mission through constant training and an effort to constantly seek new
methods and equipment to better perform our tasks. It is our duty to demand personal commitment,
good moral character, pride, honesty and teamwork of each and every member of the department. We
shall never allow race, creed, sex, age, lifestyle, national origin or economic status to affect our
decisions or judgment. It is demanded that we treat everyone with compassion and respect.
We also believe in a strong Fire Prevention Program and will continually educate our school-aged
children and adults on the importance of Fire Safety and Prevention.
